Owner/Founder
Hello, my name is Erica Dukes and I am the owner of Miss E Childcare! I grew up in Lima, Ohio and have been a long time resident of the Columbus area.
As a mother myself, I know what it takes to raise a child. I understand the difficulties of balancing work and childcare as a parent. After my son graduated from high school, I decided to quit my corporate banking job and do something that I love to do… help children grow in a loving, supportive, playful environment that feels just like home.
I have been a professional, licensed child care professional since 2015, and I am certified in infant and child CPR and first aid.

Every day, I strive to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment for each child that becomes a part of my life. From creating learning curriculums and planning fun activities, to providing nutritious snacks and going on nature field trips my childcare programs are diverse, vibrant, and fun. I take care of infants at 6 weeks through young kids up to 12 years of age. My groups are primarily made up of toddlers. I seek to create deep, long-term, fulfilling relationships with every family I work with. It brings me great joy when the strength of my relationship with a child and family allows me to be present in multiple parts of their life including birthday parties and sporting events.
My childcare philosophy is based on a commitment to provide your child with:

Programming
Arts and Crafts
I love fostering creativity in every child and do so by encouraging daily arts activities with materials like paint, markers, colored pencils, and more.
Active Learning
My diverse curriculum gives the children access to stimulating activities throughout the day with a variety of books, toys, art supplies, puzzles, and games.
Field Trips
I facilitate supervised outdoor play time and regularly schedule field trips to parks, swimming areas, and special events like “Sesame Street Live.”
Nutrition
I plan simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children throughout the day and provide the weekly menu to parents to consider any dietary restrictions.

My youngest daughter attends Miss E Childcare regularly. Every time I go to pick her up, I have to promise her that she will return … and we have been with Miss E for close to 3 years!!! I have seen this with other children as well. The desire to want to return to Miss E Childcare every day (including weekends) is the mark of an environment where the kids feel safe and are encouraged to learn and grow together. When asked if I would recommend Miss E Childcare, I would not hesitate to say unequivocally YES!!! Erica and Linda Dukes are family to us. It is a Godsend when you can rest easy knowing you child is safe, receiving personalized attention, individual care, and are in an environment that encourages their growth.
